TALES

Most people think that telling stories to children is a boring thing and they said that children do not learn anything, but is it true?
All of us are using stories to introduce different topics or aspects that we talk with students later.
If you do your own stories and the following activities to work the story and the concepts, you will not find that stories boring.

Here you can find some stories that we use with our children in our daily classes. They enjoy a lot and the most important thing they learn and sometimes want to know more about that stories.

TALE 1:
THE REALITY OF OUR SOCIETY

As teachers we think that is very interesting to talk and work with our students about the differences between women and men that we can find nowadays in our society. In the actual society, we can find role differences that are supposed to be changing. For instance, nowadays women go to work and the housework is divided between the couple. Job roles are also progressing. In recent times, everybody can study whatever they want, but some years ago there were some specific degrees that were assumed for boys and others, for girls.

Although this has changed, we still can appreciate differences between the wages of two people from different sexes in the same job position. For this reason, we think that jobs lay stress on sexism.

Due to this fact, we think that a good activity to work with our students this topic is to read them a book about how society has changed during the last years. The main objective of this activity is to talk about all this changes, but also, the most important thing is that students realised that nowadays there are still some differences between both sexes.

It is focused in magnets topic and with it we can work aspects like: if they act always identically or it depends on some aspects, if every object has this quality of magnetism, among others. It is an interesting resource to introduce this topic in class and children will love it.

TALE 3:
A PROBLEMATIC TRIP

The aim of this book is to approach our children to a plurilingual situation in which three languages are used at the same time. It is useful if we want to give meaning to our classes, as there is a story which presents problematic situations that they may solve. Moreover, you can adapt it to your students level and also include other aspects like the weather, colours…
